Roger Hadfield Ogden Leaders Program Application

The Roger Hadfield Ogden Leaders Program supports creative, independent projects of significance to the state of Louisiana, proposed by highly talented and motivated Ogden Honors College students. Ogden Leaders receive up to $5000 to support a self-directed program of study, research, or humanitarian effort, and up to 5 Ogden Leaders may be selected annually. Ogden Honors students in good standing who have completed at least one but not more than six semesters of undergraduate study in any field are eligible to apply. April 3 April 8, 2020 - Finalists will be notified
April 8-15 April 13-17, 2020 - Interviews will be held
May 8, 2020 – Applicants with selected proposals will be notified
April 24, 2021 - Selected proposals must be completed

How to Apply:

Applicants for the 2020 Ogden Leaders Program should submit the following:

1.      Personal Information, as requested below.

2.      Project Proposal: In an essay of no more than 1000 words, describe the project or experience you propose, give evidence of your qualifications to carry out the proposed project, and discuss the project’s relevance, broadly-defined, to Louisiana.

3.      Project Budget: a detailed list of project-related expenses.

4.      Project Timetable: a list of relevant dates and deadlines for the project’s target goals.

5.      Current resume/c.v.

6.      Transcript: An official LSU transcript may be obtained online through MyLSU or in person at 112 Thomas Boyd.

7.      Supporting Letters: Submit two (2) letters from individuals who can attest to the viability and consequence of your proposed initiative and your abilities to carry out the project as proposed.  At least one letter must be from an LSU faculty member willing to serve as your mentor during the project.  A supporting letter should demonstrate the writer’s knowledge of both you and your project; be sure to discuss your application with those individuals writing your supporting letters.  

Transcripts and Supporting Letters may be sent digitally to or by hard copy in signed enclosure to:
